Ready!** Pasco-Hernando Community College presents a Symposium on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on Friday, February 25, 2011. at PHCC's Brooksville campus, 11415 Ponce de Leon Blvd.
The symposium featured more than 15 guest speakers who will discuss the causes, signs and symptoms of PTSD, as well as treatment and overcoming this devastating condition. The keynote speaker was Michele Rosenthal, survivor turned go-to expert on the subjects of post-traumatic stress disorder, self-empowered healing, and accomplishing change from deep within. Rosenthal is the author of Before the World Intruded: A Memoir of Trauma, Survival, Identity & the Pursuit of Joy, to be released in 2011. Rosenthal’s website is

The event is designed for anyone affected by PTSD, including students, medical professionals, mental health providers, survivors and loved ones, and law enforcement officers.
The symposium is sponsored by Pasco-Hernando Community College, the North Campus Psychology and Psi Beta Clubs, BayCare Behavioral Health, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Hernando.
